FAITH- INDIA PRASAD INSTITUTE FOR VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION (MENTALLY RETARDED)

Project is a centre based vocational training programme, exclusively for Mentally Retarded adults. Project is only in experimental stage and initiated only on 25th November 2002.

Guru Muni Narayana Prasad had initiated functioning of the institute with a Homam and Upanishad Chanting on 25th November 2002 at Manasagiri Vattapara Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Location was handed over to FAITH - INDIA just as a managing agency by Prakash School for Chidren in Need of Special care Trust. This was perhaps the first school of its kind in the state which was subsequently defunct.

FAITH - INDIA applies Principle namely Sensory Motor Re- Education advised by Guru Nithya Chaithanya Yati to the president of FAITH - INDIA who is disciple to Guru.

Three vocational trades namely Agriculture , Envelope Making and Phenyl Making are being imparted

Courses offered

  • Package course - Senior Secondary level

  • Secretarial practice including typewriting/word processing and stenography English.

  • Word processing senior secondary level

  • Cutting, tailoring and dress making ( two modules) - Senior Secondary and 
    Secondary level

  • Food processing - Senior Secondary level

Admission. 

In every academic year two admission seasons are there - one is May to July and the other from September to November. 

Linkage with Institute of Advanced Training for the Disabled Project
All the four vocational course accredited by National Open School have been placed under the project - Institute of Advanced Training for the Disabled for the academic purposes. Trainees with disabilities are covered as under the benefits of IATD project.
