Introduction
The DSE (MR) Course envisages creation of properly trained professionals in the field of Mental Retardation. Truly dedicated and qualified candidates are been filtered and intense training is given to produce good professionals. The course is approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India, under Govt. of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Achievements of our students in past four years were excellent and all passed out in flying colors. All the professionals who came out successfully from our campus have been working, where ever they are as good ambassadors of our institution. They give us inner strength and moral courage to move forward confidently through the way we came.

Admission & Course commencement
The admission starts around June every year and the course commences in June - July (As per the calendar of activities issued by NIMH). The admission is based on Marks scored in the Plus 2 level, experience in the field and marks procured in the Interview conducted by FAITH - INDIA.

Course duration and contents
The course is of 2 years duration with a major part of it as practical. The trainees are given input in all relevant areas of Mental Retardation. As the course is attached to FAITH - INDIA Madhavan Memorial School for the Mentally Retarded, the trainees get good practical exposure. An educational tour is also included in the syllabus so that trainees get opportunity to see and learn newer trends in the field.

Eligibility
The candidates should successfully complete plus two for their admission to the course

Faculty
Mrs. Prajitha P.T who is a well qualified and experienced professional in special education was appointed to the post of core faculty from June 2001. She has also been assigned the responsibility of Executive Course Co-ordinator. Shri. M. Jayaprakash to continued to hold the position of full time special educator and Dr. M.R. Yesodharan serve as part time psychologist. 15 guest faculty members serve as the backbone and inspiring force behind the excellence and high success of the conduct of this course in FAITH-INDIA. All had acquired qualifications prescribed and approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India.
